Description

Two natural beauties

We recycle empty pea husks that would otherwise get discarded, and mix in raw, food-grade materials such as starch, corn powder, and guar gum as natural clumping agents. The result is a beautiful and highly absorbent litter that clumps naturally without a speck of dust!

We offer two litter varieties; one with a subtle vanilla scent, showing the off-white colour of its ingredients, and another that gives off a delicate lavender scent and has been dyed with an edible purple pigment.

Odour control

A layer of pea husk litter consists of thousands of pellets, which all have a porous structure that naturally seals in unwanted odours. This helps keep your cat’s litter box smelling fresh.

Delicately scented

Both litter varieties are scented to neutralise the naturally sour odour of their ingredients. One is subtly vanilla-scented, while the other is lavender-scented.

Low-waste production with unique results

Our litter pellets are only half as thick as those of other pea husk litters – a technological feat that increases the litter’s overall efficiency. After the litter is sieved, the dust is recovered and put back into the production cycle. If a batch doesn’t meet the facility’s high quality control standards, the materials are recycled and reworked entirely until perfection.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

ABOUT THE LITTER

Since the litter is based on pea husks, is it edible?
Catit Go Natural Pea Husk Clumping Cat Litter is made from raw, plant-based and food-grade materials, but like any other litter, it is not meant for consumption. Even though the litter is non-toxic, we always recommend contacting your veterinarian in case of ingestion.

Besides pea husks, what is this litter made of?
Besides natural pea husks, our litter is composed of raw, food-grade materials such as starch, corn powder, and guar gum, which function as natural clumping agents. This plant-based litter feels natural and soft to your cat’s paws, so your feline friend can “go” as in nature!

Is this litter scented?
Yes, both litter varieties are subtly scented to neutralise the naturally sour odour of their ingredients. One is subtly vanilla-scented, the other is lavender-scented.

Is this litter suitable for cats with allergies?
This litter is very low in dust, which reduces the amount of allergens and thus the chance of allergic reactions tremendously. However, if your cat has specific health issues, we always recommend consulting your veterinarian.

The lavender-scented litter has a purple colour – is that safe?
Yes, in fact, the litter is dyed with a food-grade pigment.

USAGE OF THE LITTER

How do I transition from my old litter to Catit pea husk litter?

  • Fill a litter box with Catit Go Natural Pea Husk Clumping Cat Litter

Place it next to your cat’s current litter box, still filled with the litter your cat is currently used to. We’ll refer to this as the ’old’ litter.

  • Prepare to transition the litter box

If your cat started to use the pea husk litter regularly, that’s great! Proceed as described below. Even if your cat did not use the pea husk litter, transition the pea husk litter box as described below.

  • Start to transition your litter box

Add a few scoops of used litter from your cat’s old litter box to the box filled with pea husk litter. Next, top up your cat’s old litter box with pea husk litter.

  • Repeat this process every day

It is important that you take things slowly. Also, don’t forget to clean the litter box that you are transitioning regularly.

  • Transition to 100% pea husk litter

Once you see that the litter box that your cat is using most is mainly pea husk, you can try to transition to 100% pea husk litter!

How much litter should I use?
Pour a layer (5-7 cm) of Catit Go Natural Pea Husk Clumping Cat Litter in the litter box and keep it at this level at all times to ensure the best results. Make sure that you use our litter in a dry environment only – no damp bathrooms.

How often should I scoop the litter?
Scooping once a day is recommended for the best results.

What is the best scoop for natural litters?
A wide scoop with large holes makes scooping lightweight litter easier.

How long will one box of litter last for?
On average, a box of Catit Go Natural Pea Husk Clumping Cat Litter will last 60 days in a single-cat household. But of course this depends on the size of your litter box, the number and size of the cats using it, and how much they’re drinking.

Can I use this litter in my cat’s current litter box?
Of course! And if a new litter box is in order, our litter box section ranges from regular to jumbo, so there’s a perfect fit for cats of any breed or life stage.

RECYCLING THE LITTER

Can I flush this litter down the toilet?
Our pea husk litter can be flushed down the toilet (if allowed by state and local authorities) in small quantities and with an amount of water proportionate to the waste outlet and plumbing. Make sure to read the topic below before flushing litter. We encourage the disposal of cat feces in the trash and discourage flushing cat feces in toilets or disposing of them in drains as cat feces can pollute waterways.

How do I flush litter down the toilet?

  • Check local regulations to make sure that you are allowed to flush litter.
  • Remove feces and large clumps from the litter box with a scoop and dispose of them in the trash. This is important to prevent waterways from being polluted.
  • Litter clumps the size of a walnut or smaller can be flushed down the toilet.
  • Wait for a few seconds until the clumps start to disintegrate in the water before flushing them.
  • Only flush small amounts of litter. Larger amounts should be discarded in the bin.
